Maidens of the Ripples

Directed by Michiko Soma

In a quaint port town with nostalgic charm, two 17-year-old girls forge an unusual friendship. Haruka Arima, an exemplary honor student, encounters Rin Toratani, a girl with long blonde hair, who has been skipping school. Despite their stark differences, including their problems, personalities, and lifestyles, a unique friendship blossoms. As they navigate life’s challenges and confront conflicts, Haruka and Rin find the courage to confront the imperfections of the world they live in. Through the growth of these two characters, we depict the delicate emotions of teenage girls, such as admiration, jealousy, fear, anger, and sadness, as well as a slightly peculiar and twisted friendship.
